Hope and Lincolnville came face to face tonight with their undefeated records and Hope manage to come out on top in the most exciting game so far of the young season.
Hope got 3 runs between the first and second inning and then watched Lincolnville take a 4-3 lead into the top of the fourth. In the bottom of the inning Hope was able to tie the score 4-4. Both teams then went scoreless in the fifth inning.
In the final inning of the game Lincolnville was shut down by some great pitching. Hope had last-at-bats and the first batter ripped one to the outfield and got a double. The next batter got a sacrifice and moved the base runner to third base. Lincolnville then brought the infield in to try to prevent the game winning run. However, the next batter manged to squeak a ground ball under the charging first baseman's glove and the game winning run scored!
Julian had his first hit less game as he popped out in the infield. He did have a put out in the field as he handled a tough groundball at second base and threw the runner out.
